Taraji P. Henson hosts the 2021 BET Awards (BET, MTV, TVLand, VH1, 8 p.m.). After last year’s virtual awards, this one is back live. Queen Latifah will receive a lifetime achievement award. Megan Thee Stallion and DaBaby lead all nominees with seven each; Cardi B and Drake each have five. A countdown special kicks off festivities at 7 p.m.; and the whole thing is followed by the aftershow “DJ Cassidy’s Pass the Mic: BET Awards Edition” (BET, 11:30 p.m.).

The finale of “Us” (PBS, 9 p.m.) wraps up the family vacation in Barcelona.

The saucy author (and Joan Collins’ sister) gets the focus on the documentary “Lady Boss: The Jackie Collins Story” (CNN, 9 p.m.). 

Even more makeup is involved in the four-hour, two night “Biography: KISStory” (A&E, 9 p.m.). 

“The Kings” (Showtime, 8 p.m.), the series profiling 1980s boxers, concludes.

After being postponed by the pandemic last year the Scripps National Spelling Bee (ESPN2, ESPNU, 7 p.m.) is back, and into the semifinals.
