They represented kind of a low in American culture in 1995: Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee and “Baywatch” star Pamela Anderson. Then the sex tape of their honeymoon helped expand the young internet. What would be the basis of a good trashy movie instead becomes a stretched out limited series, “Pam & Tommy” (Hulu, streaming). Sebastian Stan and Lily James play the couple; Nick Offerman, Tylor Schilling, Seth Rogen and many tattoos also pop up.

“Big Brother: Celebrity Edition” (CBS, 8 p.m.) is a good gateway to the summer-long reality show. It’s shorter, for one thing. And it usually features a couple of faces you might recognize. That list may be smaller than ever this year.

The cast includes “SNL” cast member Chris Kattan; NSYNC member Chris Kirkpatrick, “Queer Eye” OG Carson Kressley; the NBA’s Lamar Odom; Olympic medalist Mirai Nagasu; Willis from “Diff’rent Strokes,” Todd Bridges; UFC fighter Miesha Tate’ former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” (and daughter of John Mellencamp) Teddi Mellencamp; model (and Travis Barker’s ex) Shanna Moakler; and “American Idol” semi-finalist Todrick Hall. It’s an older than usual cast for such a show; five are in their 50s. It only lasts through the month but it will have up to five episodes a week. Julie Chen Moonves returns to host. The premiere is paired with “The Amazing Race” (CBS, 9 p.m.), where racers get to go to Corsica, France by private jet.

The true crime documentary “The Tinder Swindler” (Netflix, streaming) reports on a man who pretended to be rich but bilked money out of their money instead.

A landmark 25th season starts for “South Park” (Comedy Central, MTV, Paramount, Pop, TV Land, 8 p.m.) over several sister networks.

Although the opening ceremony isn’t until Friday, the Winter Olympics begins with U.S. vs. Italy (USA, 8 p.m.) in curling, followed by men’s s downhill skiing at 10. Then it’s Switzerland vs. Canada (USA, 11:10 p.m.) in women’s hockey, followed by U.S. vs. Norway (USA, 1:30 p.m.).
