The tax collector comes calling this week and Capital Radio is ready to meet it with a half dozen or so taxing songs and another 15 about paying the price.
If death and taxes are the inevitable promise, there were a lot of passings to note over the past few weeks, from Afrika Bambaataa and Jon Dee Graham, to Dash Crofts and Ross the Boss, and a special look at two musicians who played on hundreds of songs over the years, guitarist Wayne Perkins and R&B drummer James Gadson.
It was the 80th birthday of soul giant Al Green; the 75th for E Street mainstay Max Weinberg; Jimmy Destri of Blondie was turing 72, mandolin ace Sam Bush, 74.
There were also some historical birthdays to note in song, from Guy Fawkes, born 1570, to artist James Ensor, born in 1860, and Butch Cassidy in 1866.
