A year before he died last September at 61, Norm Macdonald spent an hour practicing a Netflix special he never quite finished. What he left was made into what will be his final special, “Norm Macdonald: Nothing Special” (Netflix, streaming), paired with a panel discussion on his influence recorded recently with David Letterman, Dave Chappelle, Conan O’Brien, Adam Sandler, David Spade and Molly Shannon.

French chef and TV personality Julia Child, the subject of a 1977 Meryl Streep film as well as the current HBO Max series, now gets a documentary to boot with “Julia” (CNN, 8 p.m.), produced by Ron Howard and Brian Grazer.

A new-two part documentary celebrates the 26th president of the United States, “Theodore Roosevelt” (History, 8 p.m.), based on Doris Kearns Goodwin’s book and starring Rufus Jones. TR may not be around to comment on his term, but that’s not the case with a new six-part documentary series on the 42nd President. For “The American Presidency with Bill Clinton” (History, 10:30 p.m.), Clinton is both host and executive producer.

Both certainly seem more worthy than another two-part documentary special premiering, “Biography: Bobby Brown” (A&E, 8 p.m.), about the onetime R&B star from Boston.

A sequel to the 2018 film, the made-for-TV thriller “The Bad Seed Returns” (Lifetime, 8 p.m.) once again stars McKenna Grace as an addled teen; Grace also wrote the screenplay with her dad.

The spinoff “Life Below Zero: First Alaskans” (National Geographic, 8 p.m.) focuses on indiginouns peoples who live off the land and ice.
