Army veteran turned actor J.R. Martinez was the first of the season to score a perfect 30 on “Dancing with the Stars” for his waltz with Chery Burke to “What the World Needs Now.” Then then he came back and got a second 30 out of 30 for his “Instant Dance” – a jive to Little Richard’s “Tutti Fruitti.”
His combined score of 60 put him eight points ahead of his nearest competitors, Ricki Lake and Hope Solo, who each scored a 52 out of a possible60. Rob Kardashian got 51 out of 60 for his two performances and all alone in last was Nancy Grace with just 44 out of 60 for the night.
The double perfection put Martinez as the top scorer of the season, with his average score of 26.1 over 10 dances edging Lake’s 25.7.
Grace would seem the lock to go home, but she stayed last week despite having the worst judges score, thanks to viewer’s votes.
