The oldest and largest acts on “The X Factor” were given walking papers in a double elimination night that left just seven in the running for the $5 million prize.

Lakoda Rayne was eliminated early in the Wednesday night results show – their departure leaves Paula Abdul with no acts to mentor and presumably now will be depended upon to merely showing up and putting thumbs up or thumbs down on an act.

And even that gets complicated, as in Wednesday night’s show, when judges split their support for the two singers who found themselves with the least viewers votes – Marcus Canty and LeRoy Bell, pictured left, the 60 year old Marvin Gaye-type stylist.

In the end, L.A. Reid and Nicole Scherzinger voted to keep Canty; Abdul and Simon Cowell wanted to keep Bell.

It was revealed that the viewers determined any tie breaker, and vote totals dictated that Bell had the least.

He took it graciously, in contrast to the near-ouster last week of the 15 year old rapper Astro, who was not exactly praised for his actions last week, but did get promoted without a battle.

Now that all three of Abdul’s acts having been voted off, is it time for the girl to maybe vacate her throne and take some days off?
